News

On March 16, 2012, after 16 years of keeping America informed, GPO Access will shut down.

On this day, one-to-one redirects will be activated that will direct users from GPO Access URLs to the FDsys equivalent. In the event that an exact equivalent could not be provided, users will be directed to the best available resource or the FDsys homepage. Read the GPO Access to FDsys Transition project page at <http://www.fdlp.gov/home/about/823-gpoaccess-to-fdsys-migration> for more information.

Please update your bookmarks! These redirects will be enabled for at least one year; however, the exact timeframe has not yet been determined.

Use the thread on the FDLP Community forum for questions about the shutdown at <http://community.fdlp.gov/forum/topic?f=69&t=173>.

Government Information Department

WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU FIND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT INFORMATION.

Georgia Regents University's Reese Library is a selective Federal depository library serving the students, faculty, and staff of Georgia Regents University as well as the general public. The majority of printed materials may be located using the library's GIL online catalog and are located on the 2nd floor. Most print and microfiche materials are classified by agency using the Superintendent of Documents call number system. There is a vast amount of Federal government information available on the web and in print. This guide is designed to provide you with selected websites that are used in locating U.S. government information.

While the Government Information Department has staff trained to assist you with government information, the reference librarian on duty at the 1st floor reference desk may be consulted outside of gov info department open hours.

Historic Collections

The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has publicly released the transcripts of President Richard Nixon's Watergate grand jury testimony.

This collection has been made public as a result of the July 29, 2011 order by Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia Royce C. Lamberth that the June 1975 transcript of Nixon's testimony and the "Associated Materials" to that testimony be released to the public following the review of these documents for any information that must be redacted as required by law. It is rare for any grand jury testimony to be made public.

This is the first time the public will have access to this historic collection.
